Hi,
I’m writing this myself, not as “the company”, but as Tom — the founder of Fugoya.
When I started Fugoya, a lot of people told me:
“If you want this to work, you need to focus on teams.”
But I didn’t want to do that.
I wanted to build something for freelancers — the underrepresented heroes who carry a huge part of the world on their shoulders. People who do great work, often alone, often invisible, and somehow still keep everything moving. I believed (stubbornly, maybe) that you deserved tools that were just as polished, just as powerful, and just as respectful of your time.
And honestly? I still believe that.
The hard truth is that serving freelancers is incredibly difficult. Margins are tight. Needs are diverse. And over the last year, things got even tougher: inflation hit hard, creative work became more uncertain, and AI reduced or reshaped job opportunities faster than many could adapt. All of that made it harder for you — and in turn, harder for Fugoya.
That’s why this message is not about failure — it’s about transition.
By February 27, 2026, Fugoya will be shut down. Starting now, Fugoya will no longer accept new subscriptions. All existing paying customers will be refunded for any remaining prepaid time, and everyone can continue using Fugoya for free until the end of February, when the servers will be turned off. Be sure to use the Export feature in the settings or get in touch if you need assistance.
I want to be very clear about one thing:
I see you.
I see that you tried to build something for yourself.
I see that you showed up, paid for tools, organized your work, and kept going even when the industry got harder. I’ve rooted for you the entire time — genuinely.
Fugoya didn’t disappear into nothing. We’ve been acquihired by the wonderful folks at Textshine, a company where the work, care, and lessons from Fugoya will live on in a new form. It feels like finding a new home — not just for me, but for everything this journey stood for.
If Fugoya helped you even a little along the way, I’m deeply grateful you were part of it. And if you’re disappointed right now, that’s completely fair too.
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for giving Fugoya a place in your workday.
And thank you for being freelancers — even when the world makes that harder than it should be.
With love and respect,
Tom
